Paul Arnold

Paul Arnold was appointed as Managing Director and Chief Executive of ERA in August 2017. Paul is a mining engineer who was first raised in the Central Queensland coalfields. His association with the NT began in 2007 when Rio Tinto acquired the Gove operations and he has since relished the opportunities and experiences that time living in the Territory has offered. He has gained more than 30 years’ experience in the resources sector working in operations, commercial, and major project development roles with Rio Tinto and BHP, in coal, bauxite, alumina and energy.
Since his appointment, Paul has overseen the ERA business, the planning and execution of the Ranger Mine Closure Plan and led the Company wide business transformation programme delivering substantial value and productivity improvements. Mr Arnold was a Director of the Queensland Resources Council for over 5 years and as past Chair of the Indigenous Affairs Committee established the annual  Queensland Resources Council Indigenous Awards in 2014.
Paul is a member of the NT branch of the Minerals Council of Australia and of Women in Resources NT. Paul is a proud advocate for and supporter of programs at ERA to promote diversity in the workplace. This ranges from delivering  appropriate HR practices to actively supporting the highly successful Ranger Women’s Network.
