Kate Walker joined with WiR Committee in December 2022. Kate is currently a Senior Energy Titles Officer with Energy Development Branch, Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade. Kate's role is to ensure statutory compliance in the processing and maintenance of petroleum and geothermal tenure.
Kate Walker
Kate Walker is originally from Lake Macquarie, NSW and moved have also lived in Brisbane and Alice Springs before settling in Darwin. In 2015, Kate and 17 fellow Novocastrianâs moved to Darwin chasing opportunities provided by the construction of INPEX. Almost a decade later she considers herself a Territorian having bought a house, experienced a cyclone and then living through COVID. Kate currently studying a Bachelor of Applied Business Management via distance education, while working full time in her role as Senior Energy Titles Officer with Energy Development Branch, Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade. Kate was previously was a member of the Taskforce supporting the Scientific Inquiry into Hydraulic Fracturing in the Northern Territory (Inquiry). That role took Kate to remote corners of the Territory and it was rewarding helping to remove barriers enabling engagement with the Inquiry.
